Tamdown have been awarded the groundworks for the first 190 units at Trumpington Meadows by Barratt Eastern Counties. Works will include foundations, roads and sewers as well as externals which are to be completed using materials of a high specification.

This is the first phase of the 2500 unit shceme to be released on a development where all the units will be designed and built to comply with Levels 3 or 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. The development also features a wild flower meadow which has been allowed to revert to being a flood meadow, to control floodwater and provide a better habitat for wildlife.

Trumpington Meadows has been designed to promote walking, cycling and public transport before the use of private motor vehicles. The adjacent park and ride facility will mean homeowners can travel into Cambridge easily and conveniently without using their cars, reducing traffic congestion and harmful vehicle emissions.
